The Microsoft Enterprise Library Integration Pack for Windows Azure is an extension to the Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.0 that can be used with Windows Azure. It includes the Autoscaling Application Block, the Transient Fault Handling Application Block, a protected configuration provider and the Blob configuration source.

• This is a major release which provides many new features for Windows Azure application developers and IT professionals:

    • Transient Fault Handling Application Block ("Topaz")

  • Windows PowerShell cmdlets for Wasabi

  • On-premises sample application for hosting the Autoscaling Application Block and exploratory testing (packaged with the Integration Pack Source and located under (install location)/WindowsAzure/Autoscaling/Hosts/ConsoleAutoscaler)

• • For the application blocks:
    • Operating systems: Windows 7 Professional or higher, 32-bit and 64-bit; Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008
    • Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio and Windows Azure SDK v1.6 (all-in-one installer can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsazure/sdk/)
    • Additionally, in order to run unit tests, Moq (v4.0 or later) is required.
    • Optionally, in order to use the Logging Application Block Logger, the Microsoft Enterprise Library 5.0 Logging Application Block is required (available via NuGet or as an MSDN download)
  • For the Windows PowerShell cmdlets:
    • Operating systems: Windows 7 Professional or higher, 32-bit and 64-bit; Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008; Windows PowerShell cmdlets have also been tested on Windows Server 2003
  • For the Tailspin Surveys sample application:
    • Run the Dependency Checker and follow the instructions from the TailSpin Survey's Installation guide in the Developer's Guide.
    Note: The Tailspin Surveys sample application has been tested on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and 64-bit, and on the Windows Server 2008 R2 platforms. It will likely work on other platforms if you satisfy the pre-requisites identified by the Dependency Checker, but those have not been included in the test matrix.

• Download the self-extractable zip files (with binaries, source code or sample application) and follow the instructions from the Release Notes.Alternatively, you can download specific application blocks via NuGet.
  To get the optional configuration tool, install it separately from the Visual Studio gallery or download and install the Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ConfigConsole.vsix package.
