Use ScreenTip translations to show the text of display elements – such as buttons, menus and dialog boxes – in another language.
Change the ScreenTip language to show translations of display elements – such as buttons, menus and dialog boxes – in another language and help users navigate Microsoft Office applications installed in a language they do not understand.
Some usage scenario examples are:
- Bi-lingual and multi-lingual language assistance
- Help Engineers can extend support for languages they do not understand
- Users that temporarily use Office in a foreign language or for a temporary period of time (Roaming users)
- Shared PC language usage

System Requirements

- Supported Microsoft Office Applications:
- Microsoft Office Word 2010, Microsoft Office Excel 2010, Microsoft Office Outlook 2010, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010, Microsoft Office OneNote 2010, Microsoft Office Visio 2010, Microsoft Office Publisher 2010
- Software required:
- East Asian and Complex Script languages may require support files to be installed. This can be done through the Control Panel in ‘Regional and Language Options’.
Installation Instructions
- Click the Download button on this page to start.
- Do one of the following:
- To start the installation immediately, click Run.
- To save the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save.
- To cancel the installation, click Cancel.
To turn off or change the ScreenTip Language:
- Click on the Office File button, select Options, select Language and set ScreenTip Language to 'Match Display Language'.
To remove this download:
- From the Start menu, go to Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of currently installed programs, select Microsoft Office ScreenTip Language, and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
- Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
