  Note: The Office 2010 developer references are in HxS format, as opposed to CHM format. To view the Help content from within the individual Office 2010 products, see the installation instructions below. To view the Help content outside of the Office 2010 products, you must download and install an HxS viewer from a third-party site.

• To install this download:
  
  1. Download the files by clicking the Download link and saving the files you want to your hard disk. To download all the Help files in a single package, choose Office2010DevRefs.exe.
  2. Double-click the .exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
  
  Important:
  For the Help files to function correctly with most installations of Office 2010, you need to extract the HxS files to the following location:
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\1033
  If you installed the 32-bit version of Office 2010 on a 64-bit version of Windows, you need to extract the HxS files to the following location:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\1033
  
  Instructions for use:
  Once you copy the files to one of the above locations (replacing any versions previously located there), you have successfully installed them. There is no further installation required. To see the files in the Help viewer of an Office application, click the Help button, and then click the Search drop-down arrow. Under Content from this computer, click Developer Reference.
