Download SQL Server 2005 Data Mining Add-ins for Office 2007. This package includes two add-ins for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (Table Analysis Tools and Data Mining Client) and one add-in for Microsoft Office Visio 2007 (Data Mining Templates).

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Data Mining Add-ins for Microsoft Office 2007 (Data Mining Add-ins) allow you take advantage of SQL Server 2005 predictive analytics in Office Excel 2007 and Office Visio 2007. The download includes the following components:

    • Table Analysis Tools for Excel: This add-in provides easy-to-use tasks that leverage SQL Server 2005 Data Mining to perform powerful analytics on your spreadsheet data.
    • Data Mining Client for Excel: This add-in allows you to go through the full data mining model development lifecycle within Excel 2007 using either your spreadsheet data or external data accessible through your SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services instance.
    • Data Mining Templates for Visio: This add-in allows you to render and share your mining models as annotatable Visio 2007 drawings.

    If you choose, you can install each of these components separately.

      • Enterprise
    • If installing the Data Mining Templates for Visio, Microsoft Viso Professional 2007 with .NET Programmability Support.
    • 40 MB of available hard disk space.
    • Note: The Data Mining Add-ins require a connection to one of the following versions of SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services:

Installation Instructions

    • Note: If you have an earlier version of the Data Mining Add-ins installed, you must remove it using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel before installing the latest version. User settings, such as Connections, will not be removed.

      Step 1: Verify that you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed.

      Step 2: If you do not already have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later, install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later from the Microsoft Download Center.

      Note: If you intend to install the Table Analysis Tools for Excel or the Data Mining Client for Excel, verify that the .NET Programmability Support component is installed under Microsoft Office Excel by running Microsoft Office 2007 Setup from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. The default install of Microsoft Office Excel includes this component.

      Note: If you intend to install the Data Mining Templates for Visio, verify that the .NET Programmability Support component is installed under Microsoft Office Visio by running Microsoft Office Visio 2007 Setup from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. The default install of Microsoft Office Visio includes this component.

      Step 3: Download the Data Mining Add-ins by clicking the SQLServer2005_DMAddin.msi link later on this page. To start the installation immediately, click Run. To install at a later time, click Save. The license and documentation are installed with the Data Mining Add-ins.

      Step 4: The Help documentation for this release has been updated. To obtain the latest help files, download DMAddins_Office2007_Help.exe to a folder on your computer and run it to extract the .chm Help file.
