According to Mojica, the aging Windows Server 2003 platform had worn thin. The new operating system would need to work smoothly with Western’s SQL Server® 2000 and Windows® SharePoint® Services 3.0 solutions.
Texas-based Western Extrusions was leaning on its legacy Windows Server® 2003 infrastructure more than the platform could withstand. Business growth and manufacturing volume were grinding servers and suffocating operational efficiencies enough to lower morale and fan frustration. The 650-employee company upgraded to Windows Server 2008 to bring its infrastructure up to date with its business.
