Before you can install Microsoft Office v. X for Mac Security Update (10.1.6), one or more of the following programs must be installed on your computer: Word X, Excel X, PowerPoint X, or Entourage X

In addition, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:
Processor: G3 or later, Mac OS X compatible.
Operating system: Mac OS X version 10.1 or later.
Memory: 128 MB of RAM.
Hard disk: 36 MB of available hard disk space.

• Quit any other programs that are running, including virus-protection programs, because they might interfere with installation.
• Make sure Aladdin Systems StuffIt Expander version 6 or later is installed on your computer. If an earlier version of StuffIt Expander is installed on your computer, you might not be able to install this update.

1. Print this page if you want to use it as a reference when you are offline.
2. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
3. In the table below, click the file format you want.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk.
   If you are using Internet Explorer, the Download Manager saves the file to the desktop unless you specified a different folder in the Preferences dialog box of Internet Explorer. (To check your preferences, on the Explorer menu, click Preferences, and then click Download Options in the left pane).
5. On your hard disk, double-click the file that you downloaded in step 4 to expand it.
   Depending on the Web browser that you are currently using, this step might be performed for you automatically.
6. Double-click Office X 10.1.6 Update to start the setup program.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish installation.
8. If the installation has completed successfully, you can delete the Office X 10.1.6 Update program from your hard disk.

This update does not include an uninstall feature. To restore your Office v. X programs to their original state, delete them from your hard disk, and then reinstall them from your Office v. X CD-ROM.
