This download contains a solution file that is a sample code mashup for Microsoft Office Live Small Business that is designed to map the addresses of all business contacts included in Contact Manager.

  • This sample code creates a map that displays the location of all of your contacts included in the Business Contacts list in Contact Manager in a Microsoft Office Live Small Business account. This mashup leverages the Microsoft Virtual Earth APIs and the Web services in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. It is an example of one way in which Web services can be used to create Web Parts that enhance Office Live Small Business applications.
    You can set up a map, add contacts from the Business Contacts list, and manage those contacts from an existing contact map.

  • A Microsoft Office Live Small Business account.

Installation Instructions

  • To install the code sample download, do the following:
    1. Click the Download link, and then save the file to your computer.
    2. Double-click OfficeLiveContactMap.exe. The set-up program starts.
    3. Follow the instructions on the screen to copy the individual Contact Map files to your computer.
    Note: by default, OfficeLiveContactMap.exe copies files to the following location: C:/Microsoft Office Live Developer Resources/ Contact Map Sample

    To deploy this sample in your Office Live Small Business account, do the following:

    1. On the left navigation bar, click Business Applications.
    2. On the left navigation bar, click Add Application.
    3. Under Select an Application, click Add or find custom applications.
    4. In the bottom box, click Upload a custom application, and then
    click OK.
    5. In File (.olp), click Browse, and then browse to the ContactMap.olp
    file in the folder to which you downloaded the sample.
    6. Click Add solution. The Contact Map code sample has been added to
    the account as a business application.
    7. On the left navigation bar, click Business Applications.
    8. On the left navigation bar, click Contact Map.
    9. In the library, click samplepage.

    Note: Neither the user interface nor the code in this sample has been
    localized. This sample will not function in an Office Live Small
    Business account with a locale other than English (United States).

    Note: Contacts must exist in the Business Contacts List in Contact
    Manager for this account for locations to be pinned on the Contact Map.
