- Release Date: 08/25/2004
Microsoft Windows Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical service for locating computers and other services on the network. The availability of DNS and the integrity of its data are critical to network operations.
The DNS Management Pack monitors DNS service availability, configuration issues, and DNS zone transfer issues. Additionally, this Management Pack collects performance data that can be used for capacity planning, so that administrators can anticipate issues and bring additional DNS servers online before users are negatively affected.
The Microsoft Windows DNS Server Management Pack Guide describes the content of the management pack, and describes how to deploy it.
