Deploying iSCSI Boot Nodes in Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 Step-by-Step Guide |
This guide provides step-by-step procedures for deploying nodes in your HPC cluster that boot over iSCSI.
In Windows HPC Server 2008 R2, you can centralize the storage of your HPC cluster by using iSCSI storage arrays. By using iSCSI storage arrays, the nodes in your cluster do not require a local hard disk drive to serve as a system disk, and instead use the storage resources on the storage arrays to boot Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 over the network. Nodes that use the storage resources on the storage arrays to boot over iSCSI are called iSCSI boot nodes. This guide provides step-by-step procedures for deploying iSCSI boot nodes on a cluster that is running Windows HPC Server 2008 R2.
